There is this great Forum and Website for language enthusiasts, how to learn any language that I joined awhile back and I'm participating this year in TAC, a language learning frenzy fest where everyone dedicates themselves to some linguistic endeavour for a set time frame, in this case, a year.
I'm undertaking the Japanese Language as a solo study project as well as my Spanish lessons which are aided by the class I take at school but mostly I do all I can on my own also. I want to finish these classes and actually be able to SPEAK the language!
Anyway, I've began what I hope will be a 15 week intensive stint in beginners Japanese and I'm trying to make the jump from Beginners Spanish by the end of April. I'll need to really learn those verbs covered in my textbook but I've darn near got most of my vocab and the grammar rules down. Its just a matter of practice, practice, practice y mas practica!
I'm going to be shooting for an A in Spanish II this semester along with going through/finishing up all the workbooks I've got at home and starting on the material for Spanish III before this summer. This Summer I want to read my first Childrens Chapter book --in Spanish -- in its entirety with the aid of a dictionary or two so I've really gotta put my nose to the grind stone!
Its really going to be exciting. I'm aiming to spend at least 1hr a day studying Japanese and Spanish, wish me luck!!!
